As an experienced attorney in Tressler's Local Government Practice Group, I represent various local government entities (primarily on day to day operations for cities and villages), police and fire districts, park districts and library districts. This includes intergovernmental agreements, ordinances, contract negotiations, administrative proceedings, demolition issues, employment, Open Meetings Act issues, Freedom of Information Act matters, ethics and land use matters.I also serve as corporate counsel for a number of businesses and have the ability to assist clients with corporate matters, general litigation, contract negotiation, landlord-tenant issues, real estate transactions and criminal matters. I have litigated commercial and employment disputes, professional liability matters and personal injury.

Responsible for the representation of dozens of corporate and individual clients in various areas of law, including contract drafting and negotiation, litigation of contested corporate and small business matters. Prosecute DUI, traffic, and traffic offenses for the firm’s municipal clients. Successfully tried hundreds of bench trials and dozens of jury trials, and various hearings. Advise the firm’s municipal and local government clients with legal issues including regulatory compliance, administrative review, ordinance and property matters.

Preformed legal research and prepared court documents, including, but not limited to, memorandums of law, motions, complaints and interrogatories for a small foreclosure defense firm. Prepared case strategy and assisted with civil trials for both in state and out of state cases.

Participated in the NIU College of Law’s Elder Law Clinic program. Assisted seniors citizens in their estate preparation, including the drafting of wills, powers of attorney, living wills and trust documents.

Assisted with the misdemeanor and traffic call. Tried cases in the afternoon court session. Trial experience includes bench and jury trials. Case experience ranges from traffic and DUI trials to misdemeanors. Wrote and executed search warrants.
