I'm a software engineer and data scientist who loves open source. I'm a maintainer on `LightGBM` (https://github.com/microsoft/LightGBM), a machine learning framework from Microsoft Research.I'm co-author / maintainer on a few R packages (`{pkgnet}`, `{upstasticsearch}`), and I created `pydistcheck`, a CLI for detecting portability issues in Python packages. I've also made substantial contributions (as an outside contributor) to other projects like prefect, XGBoost, and the libraries in the Dask ecosystem.I'm also a software engineer at NVIDIA, working on RAPIDS. Prior to that, I was a machine learning engineer at SpotHero. Before that, I was an engineer at Saturn Cloud, where I worked on a team building a managed Dask + Jupyter product to support data scientists. Before that, I did Industrial IoT data science things at AWS Professional Services. Before that, I was a staff data scientist at Uptake, where I was embedded with engineering teams designing and hardening Uptake's Industrial IoT platform and led the data science team's open source efforts.I hold a Master of Information in Data Science (MIDS) from UC Berkeley a Masters of Science in Applied Economics from Marquette University.
