As a teacher, I want all students to see computing lessons as an opportunity to learn new skills, demonstrate their best effort, be creative and be the next innovators of the future. I feel my strengths are my industry experience and business knowledge, my innovative nature and desire to pass this onto students. It is my ambition to make a difference within education, using my skills from industry to inspire students and improve their outcomes. I see it as imperative that when teaching students that we model, discuss, and gain students understanding of the link between the curriculum learning and the real world in which we are preparing them. After sustained periods of home schooling during covid, record breaking purchases of computers, and most companies moving to an online presence, never before has skills in design and computing been so in need and I want to be a leader that influences students to be part of this trend. I see many schools abandoning all the technologies they introduced over lockdown learning and going back to the traditional way of teaching, whereas I am more forward thinking and want to tap into how technology should be transforming learning. This has never been so important with the development of artificial intelligence technologies that are now available in the mainstream and I feel education should be at the forefront of there introduction and not lack behind the curve.
