Running my own e-commerce retail business. I developed and maintain my own websites, which includes design, search engine optimisation, sales and analytics. I have been able to get several of the sites I have developed onto the first page of google.co.uk. I have developed bespoke products that are manufactured abroad. I have to produce accurate financial information and am responsible for sales and marketing in several medias. I am responsible to fulfilment, SLA’s and Customer Service.I have developed my business online with the use of modern marketing techniques of pay per click campaigns, search engine optimisation, article writing and publishing, and developed a strategy for use of social networks. I also generate revenue through the use of ‘key word’ targeted web sites with advertising and linking with other online businesses. I use website analytics to assess the effectiveness of changes or enhancements I make, and am currently upgrading our websites to be more web 2.0 compliant and increase their accessibility for mobile.

I was employed to look at tasks and projects. I examined all methods of contact, which included telephone, letter and the introduction of a Web site. It was my job to create a customer database, develop a marketing and sales strategy and increase profitibility. I improved customer service by devising a contact procedure and enhanced marketing by use of a customer database and sales campaign. I very much focussed on business development I was in charge of task and projects, my ethos’s is one of “get the job done right, first time and on time”. I believe the client and customer can expect excellence and want my staff to feel they work for an excellent employer. Here I learnt that good use of information and building strong customer relationships are key to sustaining business into the future.

I managed a Correspondence group before moving onto the Call Centre. This is an area receiving over 30, 000 telephone calls a week relating to general enquiries and sales. My responsibilities were the recruitment of staff: conducting initial interviews on a recruitment line and when staff were in place their continual monitoring, coaching, motivation, conducting 1 to 1's and discipline. The call centre environment changed very fast, it was my job to look for improvement opportunities, through innovation and awareness. These sometimes involved technical changes or product knowledge, so we could improve our quality and control of response to calls.
