Data Collection Specialist
Work with vendors, purchasing agents, and Information Technology (IT) to collect and create product information for online portals. Organize data in appropriate file formats for internal and external website use. Collect and create product descriptions, Picture files, weights, measures, keywords, etc. to enhance the data. Facilitate product content collection and creation including categorization, brand, product names, descriptions, attributes, meta data, images, support documents, videos, and related items. Clean the data to remove bad values, correct misspelled entries, make sure data is consistent formats or fill in missing values. Maybe ask to perform some basic statistical work, may filter and sort the data, count frequencies by identified measurements; calculate means and standard deviations; Or measure correlations between sets of data. Maybe expected to describe how data was gathered, summarize collection backslash survey methods. Assist with search engine optimization for product content and product data feeds. Provide product information assistance with other departments as needed. Assist with the product merchandising. Demonstrates an awareness of importance building a strong VSI image/reputation by maintaining trade and professional relationships consistent with VSI Strategic objectives for the job. Recommends an initiates changes as needed to improve the overall company experience. Always represents VSI and a professional manner. Excellent attendance and dependability is essential requirement of this job and have the ability to work overtime as needed/required. Responsible for maintaining Good Housekeeping habits by keeping work areas clean and organized during work shift. Establishes and maintains positive work relationships with coworkers, management, customers, and vendors/suppliers to create value and opportunity for VSI growth. Based on business needs, may be required to travel periodically.
