Administrative leader of this 501(c)3 organization serving more than 450 member libraries (public, academic, school, special) in various capacities. Services include: management of the statewide Colorado Library Courier (serving nearly 300 libraries), the AspenCat union-catalog (based on Koha and unifying more than 150 rural libraries), and central support for statewide database packages - saving libraries in aggregate more than $16M. CLiC travels TO libraries with its on-the-ground consulting and training (Colleague on Call service). In addition to coordinating and sponsoring talent development events, CLiC delivers discounted products and e-resources through its growing collaborative purchase program, while establishing relationships with vendor partners. CLiC also provides fiscal agency services for programs, events and grant projects in service to other organizations.

Oversaw administration, financial management, strategic planning and direction of staff operations for several statewide services. Among those: the SWIFT interlibrary loan system, the cooperatively-run AskColorado virtual reference service, the Colorado Historic Newspaper digitization service, the Plinkit web site hosting service and the Colorado Virtual Library. Served as a state leader and service provider for libraries across Colorado, facilitating connections and collaborations. Managed $1.45M in funds across six budgets, including state, federal and external sources.

From its inception, directed the activities of this innovative, user-centered library service center, the premier teaching/learning facility on campus. In 1999, directed a $900,000 construction/expansion project involving newly-designed teaching and learning spaces, electronic classrooms, conference room, and service points. Expanded responsibilities included oversight of library technology development, delivery, and support services; supervised an operation of 7 FTEs including librarians, instructional designers and technical support staff members and 20 FTE in student assistants. Provided administrative guidance for two public service desks supporting hybrid teaching/learning/research facilities.

Managed two academic computing sites, coordinated scheduling for three electronic classrooms, and oversaw the library's audio-visual collection. Developed departmental policies and services. Trained and supervised LRC and lab staff. Educated and consulted with faculty and staff about using PCs for research and database searching. Taught regular classes about computer-mediated communication, the Internet, and web site development.• Created the university’s first web presence• Served as a key link between library and academic technology departments• Contributed to the design of a new state-of-the-art electronic classroom

Now defunct, this museum, library & archive merged with the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in 2002. The Balch Institute's library catalog is fully integrated with that of the Historical Society.In 1994, the Balch operated from its own modern building just two blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The Balch was home to the largest multi-ethnic collection of historical and genealogical materials in the U.S., offering public access to a vast collection documenting the various ethnic groups that have immigrated to North America.During my time there, I created the institute's first-ever web site, authored a 5-year strategic plan for the library & archive, and contributed to the hosting of a national symposium on civil rights and race relations titled, "Is There A Dream For Today? Competing Visions, Conflicting Agendas" which examined both the gains and the failures in race relations since the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
