I am a First-Class BEng Hon Aerospace Engineering graduate, currently working as the Maintenance Planning Officer for 2Excel Aviation. This position allows me to work alongside aircraft, liaise with a range of departments all while managing my own workload. Despite my passion for this role, I am always looking for my next challenge, wherever that may be.My studies at Sheffield Hallam University have developed my enthusiasm and curiosity towards aerospace engineering. Not only has this built on many of my key individual working skills, it has also furthered my team working skill set (such as project management, integration of designs, and understanding other working styles). Furthermore, the course has enabled me to develop many skills such as: computer-based design & analysis (CAD and CFD), aerodynamics, thermofluid dynamics, structural dynamics, as well as the use of Matlab.University has allowed me to pursue another one of my passions, motorsport, through both SHU Karting and SHU Racing societies. During my time with them, I was elected as the Social Secretary and Equality & Diversity Officer (respective).Alongside University, I worked a part-time job at Greggs, which demonstrated team working and communicational skills within a fast-paced environment. My promotion to senior sales resulted in me running the shop and managing staff, showing my eagerness to develop my knowledge. My role at Doncaster Sheffield Airport requires quick and creative thinking while remaining calm under higher pressure such as when dealing with aircraft and ground emergencies.When I have gained further knowledge, insight into the development process, and eventually leadership experience, I will aim to return to university and study for a credited master’s degree. At this point, I will have fulfilled all requirements to become a charted engineer.
