NZX-listed Vector (VCT) is New Zealand’s largest energy portfolio business, the owner and operator of the largest electricity distribution network in NZ, and the largest advanced metering business across Australia & NZ. I lead Vector's team responsible for market-related strategy and regulation, with particular responsibility for the relationships with the New Zealand Electricity Authority, Gas Industry Company and the Australian Energy Market Commission. Prior to joining Vector, I led strategy development and a number of strategic projects for the Electricity Authority itself, based in Wellington. This role, the Chief Strategy Officer, was part of the Authority's Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief Executive. Before joining the Authority, I spent nearly ten years with Trustpower, a vertically-integrated renewable electricity generator and energy-telecommunications retailer in Tauranga, working in a variety of roles including strategy, policy and regulatory affairs, investment analysis and market analytics, covering New Zealand and Australia. I began my career in academia and consulting, working primarily in Europe and New Zealand. I have experience in strategy development, policy and regulation, market analytics, investment analysis and risk management in energy markets across Australasia, Asia and Europe.My academic background includes electricity wholesale market analytics, in which I completed a doctorate in 2007.
