My professional goal is to help dynamic organizations realize increased growth and success by using my background in government affairs to help achieve public policy goals. I also look to continue helping others with realizing their professional and personal goals.My government affairs roles have involved developing and executing strategic plans to achieve public policy goals on wide-ranging issues for a variety of clients, including corporations, trade associations, and ad-hoc coalitions. These experiences have allowed me to work with Congress, White House agencies and wide-array of regulatory and stakeholder federal agencies including USDA, HHS, EPA, FDA, FAA, NIOSH, DoD, DOE, Interior, DHS, and NASA. As with federal policymakers, a gratifying aspect of these roles has involved establishing beneficial partnerships with non-governmental organizations, trade associations, and other stakeholder organizations. In my current role as a government affairs consultant, I assist clients with achieving their public policy goals in the legislative and federal regulatory arenas. I previously served as head of federal affairs for a pharmaceutical company during a period of significant federal policy change. Along with implementing comprehensive advocacy plans to achieve company public policy priorities, I developed and implemented a strategic plan to achieve greater alignment of federal affairs hiring of consultant expertise, sponsorships, and the corporate PAC plan with the strategic goals and mission of the organization. During my years with government affairs consulting firms, I developed and implemented strategic advocacy plans for clients on a wide array of public policy issues at both the federal and state levels. My government service began with an activity-filled stint in the U.S. Air Force and later as committee staff working for the NJ General Assembly, the NJ Governor's office, and working state and federal election campaigns. Supporting others in their career development has been another gratifying aspect of my professional career. I had the terrific growth opportunity to be selected as a team mentor for a corporate talent development program. I also served as an instructor for U.S. Office of Personnel Management courses on both the federal regulatory and federal budget processes. I also had the pleasure to lead several classes of summer interns - providing them the opportunity to gain greater insights into Congressional and executive branch processes and conduct advocacy presentations before federal policymakers on real client issues.
