A move to Freeth Cartwright LLP allowed me to focus on corporate transactions and hone my skills.During my time at Freeth Cartwright LLP I acted for a broad range of clients in relation to various private equity, MBO, MBI transactions as well as general acquisitions and disposals with a value of between £1 million and £50 million.Some examples include:-* Acted for the company and management in relation to a £3.5 million investment in its fast food restaurant business by the Business Growth Fund. * Advised a private equity house in relation to its further investment in a waste management company. * Advised a European footwear brand in relation to its joint venture with a British sales agent. * Acted for the company and existing management in relation to a private equity investment in a fashion label. * Acted for a Canadian online wholesale retailer in relation to its acquisition of a UK retailer.

I spent a large amount of my training contract in the Corporate/Commercial team and experienced a substantial number of company and business sales and acquisitions, management buy-outs, corporate re-organisations, refinancing and restructuring including the banking and security related issues, shareholder agreements and partnerships.I also gained experience in venture capital financing transactions, acting for equity funds providing seed and development capital predominantly for telecommunications technology companies.During my time at MLM Cartwright I also acted for a number of clients operating in the media, entertainment, betting, gaming and leisure industries, including some of the largest betting and gaming companies in the world, broadcasters, and numerous independent television production companies.
