The primary purpose of this position was to provide research assistance in the development of free-space optical communications (FSOC) technology. FSOC was a key strategic focus of DQS and this area of research was supported by funding from ARC LIEF, ARC Linkage Project, Defence Science Institute funding, ACT Government funding and CRC funding. This position helped ANU meet its obligations to these programs, by furthering ANU’s technology and capability in this area.
