Assisted in executing a Venture Capital networking event with over 130 participants to develop and foster the biotech ecosystem in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Working to establish deal-flow and partnerships with start-ups and investors.

Conceptualizing, and providing support for Department of Defense grant application for combat ready treatment option for penetrating traumatic brain injury. Interviewing, onboarding, and managing intern projects. Performing due-diligence research and developing strategic business development materials to secure pharmaceutical licensing and partnerships.

Led a multidisciplinary collaboration to characterize wound induced polyploidy for the first time in vivo using live microscopy and a novel dissection and fixation technique I developed. Contributed to a successfully funded R01 grant application totaling over 1M in funding to date, wrote 3 first-author peer-reviewed publications. Successfully recruited and mentored two undergraduate students for four years. Mentee project led to an undergraduate research award and a publication on which I was a contributing author. Additionally, onboarded and mentored over 13 PhD rotation students leading to a multi-rotation project and publication on which I was a contributing author. My independent research findings were presented at 11 poster presentations and 6 oral presentations, earning 4 awards. Additionally, to address a lack of community following the COVID pandemic, I successfully authored and negotiated a formal proposal with the chair of my department to triple our student association budget facilitating monthly grad student lunches and coffee & bagel breakfasts. These events re-engaged the graduate student community routinely bringing 30-50 peers together and creating space for discussion and collaboration that was lost during the pandemic.

Proposed and negotiated a 3x budget increase for graduate student community development to rebuild graduate student community following the COVID pandemic. Planned, directly managed or delegated 12 monthly graduate student lunches as well as 4 quarterly graduate student events to foster collaboration and community. Represented student needs to Dean of graduate school during monthly meetings.

Interviewed, onboarded, and managed multiple intern projects. Explored company needs and developed a JIRA workspace to replace existing project management solutions. Assisted in the development of technical, and strategic business development documentation.

Managed trades and monitored portfolio performance for student-backed $10,000 fund with the goal of educating graduate students on biotechnology investing. Leveraged biomedical expertise to enhance due diligence process over 10 portfolio selections.

Began as a freshman student technician but through commitment and pushing myself to grow, became an integral paid part-time Research Technician in the lab during my junior / senior years and full-time during my gap year. I led two interdisciplinary projects designing and executing individual experiments and managed undergraduate projects resulting in a co-first author paper, as well as two contributing author publications. Awarded at a national conference for an oral presentation summarizing my work. Research was also presented at 11 individual poster symposiums within the US. Additionally took on lab-managerial duties such as managing hundreds of breeding crosses, inventorying, and husbandry of a 500+ mouse colony, as well as training and managing 4 undergraduate students conducting mouse husbandry duties.
