As a Field Associate for Americans for Prosperity, I was responsible for identifying, educating, and mobilizing activists in the state of Indiana to accomplish our goals, whether it be phonebanking, canvassing, or hosting events to advance our message of economic opportunity and prosperity for all Americans. Other responsibilities include doing back-end work and training new activists to enable them to do more with their time and resources.

I was a Campus Coordinator with Students For Liberty, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports liberty. SFL does not dictate the foundations upon which individuals justify their belief in liberty. Rather, Students For Liberty embraces the diversity of justifications for liberty and encourages debate and discourse on the differing philosophies that underlie liberty. What Students For Liberty endorses are the principles that comprise liberty: economic, social, intellectual, and academic.My main job with SFL was to provide resources to pro-liberty groups on campuses in Indiana, provide them assistance via SFL's extensive international network, and to promote and help them attend SFL's events, including the Regional Conferences, the International Students For Liberty Conference, and the Indiana Forum for Freedom, an event that served not only as a networking tool to pro-liberty students across Indiana, but also promoted SFL's many programs.

I spent three weeks between March 2013 and April 2013 assisting in AFP's campaign to reduce the Indiana personal income tax. I was involved in organizing door-to-door palm-card dropping, phonebanking, and coalition building via meeting with representatives of local Tea Party and Republican Party affiliated groups. In the end, we secured a 5% personal income tax cut to take effect over four years and be in full effect by 2017, the largest such tax cut in Indiana history.

Iowa

I applied and was accepted as one of over three hundred students who served the Ron Paul 2012 campaign in Iowa during Christmas Break with Ron Paul in Iowa. We served the week leading up to and the day of the Iowa Caucuses. I was at the sub-camp that was located nearby the Quad Cities of Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island, and Moline on the Iowa and Illinois sides of the Mississippi River, respectively. The time I spent there, I canvassed, phonebanked, and took part in the Get Out To Vote effort. While Ron Paul didn't win the Iowa Caucuses, those of us who served the campaign still accumulated lots of experience with which we've used on other campaigns and activism efforts.
