Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāpuhi, Raukawa, Kuki Airani.Fluent in Te Reo Māori – James founded the internationally acclaimed group the Modern Māori Quartet who perform frequently both nationally and internationally. Inspired by his talented friends and thirst for collaboration – the idea was to create opportunities between acting work which went further then they could ever imagine performing in such places as Uzbekistan, UK and China. James’ also a professional stage & screen actor with his highlights being performing at the Globe Theatre in London with the Māori Troilus and Cressida in 2015 and in the films The Kick, Jonah and Mahana directed by Lee Tamahori. His latest work is on the film WHINA directed by James Napier & Paula Whetu Jones.With a passion for business, James has since founded Copapa Construction. A residential & commercial company specialising in high quality work at affordable prices. His plan is to help everyday people make their residential dreams a reality.James’ vision is to take the idea of COPAPA (Collaboration & Purpose) into all his endeavours and relationships with the ambition of creating long lasting and meaningful connections.James’s latest ventures have found him on the TVNZ Summer of cricket team, joining as a live reporter on the field!
