I believe each child is an exceptional unique individual who needs to be provided a secure and loving environment in which they are able to grow emotionally, physically, socially and intellectually. My goal is to network, support, promote and build capacity for dedicated stakeholders who work for and on behalf of young children. I believe children should be able to explore their creativity, understand their emotions and learn self-regulation through social skills and the best of academic experiences. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s Office of Early Learning believes a strongly aligned, high-quality early learning experience increases success for all children in school and in life. Therefore, we exist to collaboratively reform and support a more coherent and aligned approach to teaching and learning from early care and education to the primary grades and beyond. This is accomplished through the following:developing and implementing a coordinated strategy to align early care and education and kindergarten through grade 3 policies and practicesserving our stakeholders as we listen, research, inform, and coordinate efforts across the birth to grade 3 continuum promoting high-quality teaching and learning that supports the whole child, including their developmental, cultural, and linguistic needs.

*Served in a leading role to the Richmond County School System to enable every administrator, teacher, and staff member to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviors required to create twenty first century learning cultures which enable all students to demonstrate high levels of achievement. *Provided resources and administrative support to acquire and improve professional knowledge, practices and skills to best enable all schools to achieve their mission.
