My role within the company is to help coaches provide video analysis for their teams that they would otherwise be unable to provide themselves due to lack of equipment or software at the club. A typical day requires me to:* Travel to the team on match day* Communicate with the coaches to establish areas of focus within the filming* Calibrate media equipment and film the match* Provide the footage to the necessary coaches post match in the correct format for each coach (using Handbrake or Ultimate Video Converter)* Post-match analysis of the footage using Sportscode Gamebreaker Plus (coding to previously discussed areas of analysis between the company and team)* Upload the coded footage to the company dropbox where the team can access it as quickly as possibleSome clubs have also requested the company to provide detailed match reports that can help indicate areas of improvement and to accommodate this I have developed a report using Apples Numbers software that automatically updates each match report using the instance frequency reports generated by 'Gamebreaker Plus' from the coded footage. This speeds up my workflow and allows me to provide a relatively detailed match report to teams quickly and easily.

This role requires me to work within a team of performance analysts to provide detailed footage/reports of both matches and training to assist the coaches and players in performing at the highest possible level.My current responsibilities at the club include the setting up and calibration of media equipment for the filming of training and matches using a variety of equipment (incl. telescopic cameras and IP cameras) and am also responsible for the live coding of training using iCoda and post-training coding using Sportscode Gamebreaker. I am also responsible for keeping data and footage of opposition teams up to date and to analyse the opposition set piece to then create a detailed report for the coaches. I have also been heavily involved with the Bristol United team and have participated in both the live coding of matches and post-match coding of individuals using Sportscode Elite. This internship has significantly developed my understanding of the professional coaching environment and my practical ability in regards to delivering performance analysis services at an elite level.

My Duties at the Academy included the setting up and calibration of media equipment and the filming of matches for the Swindon Town Academy teams, predominantly with the lower age groups (8-12s). I also communicated extensively with the coaches to identify specific areas in which they had been developing with the team during the week as focus points for analyis. With this information I then proceeded to use specialist performance analysis software (Dartfish) to edit the games into clips of the areas that I felt identified strengths and weaknesses within the teams. I also created match statistics/reports to help the coaches clearly identify areas for improvement and ultimately develop the teams to the best of their ability.
