After successfully completing my four year apprenticeship in Manufacture Engineering, I’ve been fortunate enough to gain experience and knowledge in many different areas of setting. Over the past 7 years, I’ve had opportunities to spend time in inspection/quality control and on the machine shop floor. I have experience on many varieties of Star machine and measuring machine alike and was one of the only people trained to program a CMM machine at a previous place of work. I’ve supported colleagues in their training on various machines and I am confident in my ability to program, set and run a job through from start to finish and support colleagues in doing the same. I am competent in using NC Assist to create programs as well as create programs from scratch without the use of this program. I have experience in tool selection and subsequent cutting feed and speed data on a variety of different materials.I am a quick learner and good at problem solving which is evident in many of the projects I work on. I am particularly confident in my ability but I am keen to learn new techniques and work on other machines in order to develop my skill set further than it currently is.Outside of work, I am passionate about sports and in particular, football. I have been involved with many teams over the years including at junior and national level. Presently, I play for Invergowrie AFC. I have experience of creating, developing and executing successful training sessions and have been approached by teams other than my own to help set up their training and run sessions for them.Leadership roles are something which I thrive on and find extremely rewarding. I would like to expand my leadership skills further by using them more in my work setting.
