Aveo operates approx 100 Retirement and Aged Care Communities housing approx 14,000 residents up and down the East Coast of Australia (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart). As the General Manager - Property and Shared Services I was responsible for the following functions;1. Select Dining - Aveo's catering function which employs 350 staff across approx 70 kitchens.2. Reinstatement and Refurbishments - conducting approx 1,000 unit refreshes p.a.3. Facilities Management - ensuring Aveo's property is maintained and compliant to all Australian Standards and relevant legislation. 4. Technology - providing efficient Communications, data and health supporting technology solutions. 5. Procurement - implementing Brookfield's Vendor Risk Management strategy and responsibily procuring approx $100m of Opex and Capex products and services. I commenced this role in Feb 2020 as the COVID pandemic hit and immediately became responsible for procuring PPE, changing the cleaning scope across our properties from an aesthetic based approach to disinfecting approach and assisting with keeping the pandemic out of our Communities - something which I am extremely proud of achieving along with the rest of the Aveo cohort of the time. I was also responsible for developing and implementing a business transformation strategy for the areas of my responsibility and creating a Procurement function and Capital Works team which did not exist before my employment into the business. I hired approx 50 staff and created 10 new roles during my time at Aveo.

I was approached to work for the company in a position to assist the Director of IFM (Commercial Accounts), requiring a strong engineering staff member to provide regulatory services across the business, auditing all major accounts and providing technical and administrative assistance to all account managers. The Commercial Accounts team comprises approx. 50 staff providing end-to-end Facility Management services to clients such as ANZ Bank, IBM, Commonwealth Bank, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, IAG, CCA, Deutsche Bank and various other clients. During the first year in this role I was approached to provide relief for the Deutsche Bank Account Manager whilst he took a 6 week holiday. Shortly afterwards the Account Manager resigned, and Deutsche Bank offered the replacement role which was accepted. This account comprises of;• 9 sites – approx. 40,000m NLA.• 8,000m of Critical Environment Space including 4,000m of trading floor.• 7 direct reports – Facility Managers and Facilities Co-Ordinators (based in Australia and NZ).• KPI’s – focused on nil downtime, financial incentives and customer satisfaction scores.• Budget - AU$7million operational, AU$20million rental, AU$2million Capital Expenditure.• Owning all vendor relationships for engineering services across the portfolio.• Managing relationships with approx. 15 business units within the bank including the Investment banking arm, and global banking group.• Global account, with global reporting functions.• JLL - Critical Environment Board member from December 2006.• Regional Lead (subject matter expert) – Vendor Management.

My role, as ‘National Account Manager’ was to lead a team of approx. 30 staff to provide complete end-to-end Facility Management services for the Australian portion of a global contract (CSC Pty Ltd). The contract is not only a flagship for the Australian portion of the JCI business, but is the 2nd largest global contract of its kind.• Leadership and ownership of a $5million dollar p.a. account.• Managing the CSC Australian operational budget of $32- million p.a.• Management of a portfolio of 14 properties with an NLA of 52,200m2 and housing 2,815 CSC staff throughout Australia. This portfolio is predominately commercial with a significant amount of raised floor ‘critical environment’ areas within each property.• Responsible for securing 12 month extension of contract in February 2005. • Re-structured team from 43 staff to 27 staff with 13 redundancies, 12 new starters including the hiring of a no. of permanent temp. roles to full time roles over a 3 month period.• Centralised account management team to work ‘side-by-side’ the client’s Global Property team in Sydney, NSW.• Implemented monthly reporting protocol including work order management stat’s, ‘major incident’ management stat’s, space utilisation stat’s, etc.• Implemented a central “knowledge management” database for the entire team to use and organised for the client to have access to the database ensuring transparency of service. This database was populated with all policy/procedure, and reporting for the account.• Implemented ‘Performance Appraisal’ regime and responsible for ceasing staff vacancy rate (as of May 2005) which was approx. 40% in Dec. 2004.• Implemented procurement strategy in order to cull service provider numbers from approx. 250 in Dec. 2004. • Compiled Australian portion of the Global rebid for services in May 2005.
