I have spent the last 15+ years working with the greatest populaton ever- those who need help! I enjoy serving in the healthcare industry and have worked with most every age and nearly every type of challenge you can imagine.People have often commented on the difficulty of working with those in need of assistance to carry out eveyday tasks. I find myself trying to imagine having it any other way! - I would say that it is a wonderful challenge for me to make others feel "normal". "Normal" to me is feeling like anyone who is another human being, Some of the weakest clients (physically) I have are the strongest people I know, and the people with the great limitations seem to accomplish the greatest works!I have had the oppurtunity to work with those with severe developmental disabilities and those with severe physical challenges. Some who think as if they are 8 when they are 80, and some who do not realize what age even is. Makes no difference to me, if I can make their day mean a little more than it would have if I was not there. I enjoy training others to care for populations of many different challenges. I am enjoying sharing my years of experience with others and am looking forward to moving into this arena as my primary duties.Having a family of my own and a busy house has taught me some of the skills needed to accomadate others. I have also enjoyed the formal education I have had in earning my Medical Assistant degree to supplement the hands on experience. To sum my career up, I believe in sharing with others the things I can, and teaching others the things I know. Finally, combining the two to make it all look like something worth them waking up each day to tackle again! I also have found that it is very rewarding for me to instruct others to do the same by teaching skills needed to be successful working with a variety of populations. I have found that attaining a certain skill set is critical to help others in these areas.
