I worked on the network automation team to pipeline and redeploy existing applications using Kubernetes kOps to AWS ECS for container management. This involved deploying ECS infrastructure, refactoring application code, and redeploying the applications onto the new infrastructure. Transitioning to ECS allowed operational costs to decrease by at least $150/month and vulnerabilities to be auto-remediated. The CI/CD pipeline made the ECS cluster and application deployment processes repeatable. The technology used in this project includes AWS ECS, AWS EC2, AWS Route53, AWS CloudWatch, Docker, Jenkins, Bogie, and Angular.

My role involves supporting the other members on the executive board of my chapter and making sure all of the meetings, use of online applications, and communication with chapter advisors run smoothly. I am also responsible for revising our written chapter laws periodically, updating them to align with our chapter's expectations and values, and planning our chapter's election process.

I built a system to dynamically configure services, allowing engineers to update configuration values during runtime. The system provides API endpoints to manage current service configurations and uses Kafka and Amazon S3 to broadcast/store updates. I also created a client library for existing services to easily implement the dynamic configuration logic. This system is valuable because it saves time in updating configuration values by avoiding service restarts when configurations are updated and improves service maintenance by allowing engineers to focus on adjusting configuration values to fix issues rather than spending time on the actual updating.

I taught core computer science topics to grade school children.

I attended meetings with an architect and his clients to discuss architectural designs, learned about architectural design software, and visited job sites.
