I am a self motivated network architect with over 20 years experience and a thorough knowledge of both Azure networking and Cisco data center networking products. I have a particular interest in automation and programmability and a proven ability to design and implement enterprise class networks that can easily scale and survive failures with minimal or no disruption.Since late 2018 I have been working in a cloud architect role with a focus on Microsoft Azure. In this role I am part of a team responsible for evaluating and building documentation for the secure implementation of cloud services that various business units are interested in using. In addition, I am responsible for the networking and security design in Azure that supports multiple business units in isolated subscriptions that are able to communicate between each other for certain application integrations. The security is provided by a combination of Azure native tools and virtual Palo Alto firewalls being managed with Panorama. The networking and security components are deployed using an infrastructure as code approach where each subscription’s configuration is defined with Terraform and version controlled on an internal GitLab cluster.My previous focus was on Cisco data center networking (Nexus) products and features (vPC, OTV, VXLAN EVPN, ACI, etc.) as well as automation and programmability (primarily in Python).
