Jamie Robards Email and Phone Number
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be in the medical field, but it wasn’t until I graduated from community college that my call to nursing became apparent. I started my college journey later than many, at the age of 30, and it took me longer than most to finish; however, after overcoming many obstacles, tragedies, and surgeries along the way, I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in April 2023. During my time at California Baptist University, I excelled in my education and will graduate with Cum Laude Honors. I have a heart of gold and a passion for helping others. My work background includes 10+ years of customer service and 5+ years of management experience, which has taught me how to connect and communicate well with others. Throughout my clinical rotations, I gained a considerable amount of knowledge that enhanced my skills of evidence-based practices, patient advocacy, critical thinking, and prioritization of patient care. My goal as a new graduate nurse is to attain a position where I can further enhance my skills. I am a dedicated, resilient, and hard-working individual that will bring compassionate care to my patients. I thoroughly enjoy being at the bedside and am seeking positions where I will have the opportunity to form quality nurse-patient relationships while delivering high quality patient-centered care. I look forward to being part of team that is as dedicated to providing the same level of respectful, dignified, and compassionate care as I am.

Nursing StudentCalifornia Baptist University Sep 2019 - PresentRiverside, California, United StatesAs a nursing student, I provided direct-patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. I was able to demonstrate critical thinking while caring for patients on various units at several different hospitals/clinical rotations. I learned the value of communication among other disciplines. I was able to communicate with interprofessional teams to provide positive-patient outcomes, demonstrate collaboration to meet patients needs and goals, and use my communication skills to interact with patients to create a safe and healing environment. Additionally, I was able to reinforce my time management and leadership skills previously gained in past work history. -
ManagerExtra Space Storage Oct 2013 - Dec 2016Beaumont, California, United StatesBeing a site manager at Extra Space Storage gave me the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life. I was able to build my customer service skills by helping customers meet their storage needs, managing customer complaints, and doing whatever was necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, I was to build my interpersonal communication and time management skills. As a manager for Extra Space Storage, I had to collaborate with my assistant manager, as well as other managers in my district, district team leaders, and district managers to make sure that the facility ran smoothly. With an 8 hour workday, my time management skills had to be on point to guarantee that the property was well-kempt at all times, customers were taken care of in a timely fashion, and paperwork was completed before the end of each shift. While at this location, I was able to raise occupancy and customer satisfaction to number one in the district. -
Assistant ManagerExtra Space Storage Aug 2012 - Mar 2013Lexington Park, Maryland, United StatesMy time spent as an assistant manager for Extra Space Storage prepared me to be a site manager for the company. During my time as an assistant manager, I was tasked with ensuring the cleanliness of the facility, renting units to customers while providing excellent customer service, and completing small maintenance and repairs at the facility. -
ManagerSubway Aug 2009 - Feb 2012Kansas City, Kansas, United StatesThere are many skills that I possess today because of my time spent as a manager for Subway. Prior to this position, I had no management or leadership experience, but was able to take this position and grow from it. I learned how to build my interprofessional and interpersonal communication skills, which were quite lacking prior to this. As a manager who was in charge of hiring and firing, I learned how to build a team that worked well together, despite differences in personalities and opinions. This position allowed me to understand the importance of time management, as well. I was responsible for managing a team, staff scheduling, food truck delivery scheduling, education on proper food handling and food waste, and weekly inventory, amongst other responsibilities, so learning how to manage time was essential.
