Office Of Data Exchange Policy Publications And International Agreements

As the Branch Chief for the Federal Agreements Branch, I oversee 80 federal data exchange agreements and work with federal partners to facilitate new data exchanges. I also lead the yearly renewal of over 30 financial agreements totaling $14 million as our partners are required to reimburse SSA for the data we provide to them.

I am one of SSA's representatives on the Federal Inter-agency Reentry Council working group. The Federal Inter-agency Reentry council working group is charged with collaboratively working with other federal agencies to assist ex-offenders as they return to society. I created a website, www.ssa.gov/reentry to provide SSA benefit information and links to other federal services for individuals returning to society.

I oversee the development and enforcement of agency wide data exchange policy to create uniformity in how SSA engages in data exchanges with federal and state agencies.

Office Of Disability Programs

As Deputy Director of the Office of Compassionate Allowances and Disability Outreach, I advance the Compassionate Allowances initiative, an initiative to provide quicker disability decisions to individuals with severe conditions. I planned and executed large-scale public outreach hearings on cardiovascular disease, auto-immune diseases, and cancer. I recruited medical experts from around the country to provide information about these conditions. I recruited medical experts from around the country to provide information about these conditions. I also established relationships with advocate groups and the National Institutes of Health. As a result of the hearings and other outreach, there are 225 medical conditions on the CAL list. Individuals with these medical conditions are receiving their benefits more quickly. Show less

As a disability insurance specialist in the Office of Legislation and Congressional Affairs, I developed an expertise in determining the legislative intent of various Social Security disability issues. I prepared SSA executives for testifying before Congress on several issues related to Social Security's disability programs.
