Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam (GLR), the Dutch creative college for Media, Design & Technology, is the largest creative college of its kind in the Netherlands. Within RDM Centre of Expertise (RDM CoE) educational institutes, research centres and companies cooperate to improve technology education, create new knowledge and on the sustainable innovation necessary for the port and city of Rotterdam. This cooperation takes place in Communities of Practice in the area of Next Port Industry, Logistics & Mobility, Energy & Biobased Materials, and Resilient City. RDM CoE is a Centre of Expertise of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science which has been set up on the campus of RDM Rotterdam, in the middle of the port, as part of a public-private partnership with the Port of Rotterdam Authority, the City of Rotterdam and other organizations. RDM CoE is the innovation engine for port and city.

With almost 10,000 students, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences has one of the largest HBO technical clusters in the Netherlands. However, the region is asking for more higher educated people with a technical profile and for more practice-oriented research to support innovations. The strategic vision of the university of applied sciences (2016) presents a solid ambition for the Technology domain; clearer profiling, strengthening of the portfolio (Ad-Ba-Ma) and further collaboration/harmonization of the organizational units (institutes, Knowledge Centers, CoE and services).

Independent (not for profit) training institute for the broadcasting companies and the audio-visual industry. The aim of the Media Academie is to provide quality training for radio, television and new media in the field of both programmes and facilities.The Media Academie designs tailor-made courses and (inter)national training-projects; certified AVID, ADOBE and Apple traininginstitute. In 2006 the Media Academie organised the MBA Crossmedia and since 2007 the (professional) Master Journalism (NVAO-accreditation).The Academie was founded by the NOS (Dutch public broadcasting organisations), the NOB (the Dutch Broadcasting Production Company), the Amsterdam Filmacademy and the Utrecht School of Art (HKU). At this moment several public and commercial mediacompanies are represented in the board: RTL, Endemol, IdtV, Technicolor en Sound & Vision. From 2004 - 2007 member PREPUT-board. Preput was the International Conference and Network-event for Media Training Professionals prior to the INPUT festival. Co-organised this event in Aarhus, Barcelona, San Francisco and Taipei.

Endemol is one of the largest television producers in the world. In early 2001, they decided to start Endemol Interactive. This section grew quickly into a company of 45 employees and achieved a variety of cross-media projects (eg Big Brother, Star Academy, soap community), several SMS-games and B2B projects, for example Philips, Campina (food), Dirk vd Broek (retail) and KPN (Telco).

The NOB was the largest holding facility for radio and television productions in Europe (2200+ employees) and is at this moment part of Technicolor. In 1995 NOB Interactive was established to start their innovative new business initiatives, including 'new media': e-learning, web management, internet publishing e.g.. From December 2000 this company was independently placed on the market under the name ‘Bright Alley’.

Company: BIT-IC was a full-service multimedia agency (since 1986). They were pioneers in the field of multimedia solutions for communication and learning (e-learning). In 1995, the company became part of Cap Gemini in Utrecht.My job: After an internship started as a projectmanager and grew to Unitmanager (unit Application Training & Performance Support).
