● Edited World Ark, the bimonthly magazine of Heifer International.● Implemented complete redesign of the magazine, taking it from a quarterly to a bimonthly publication, integrating the magazine with Heifer’s public Web site, and seeing its circulation rise from 200,000 to more than 350,000.● Saw contributions to Heifer through the magazine triple.● Solicited, edited, and published original articles from writers such as Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the U.N. Millennium Development Project, and Pedro Sanchez, the 2002 World Food Prize-winner and a MacArthur Fellow; Bill McKibben, Lester Brown; Barbara Kingsolver; and Dr. Joseph Stiglitz, the 2001 Nobel Prize-winner in economics, a member of President Clinton’s Council of Economic Advisers, and the author of the best-selling Globalization and Its Discontents.● Helped craft Heifer’s public relations, marketing, corporate relations, and education initiatives.

Wrote articles and columns and edited for the Times; story subjects ranged from a profile of Whitewater figure Susan McDougal to the building of North Little Rock's Alltel Arena.

● Supervised the newspaper's eight government affairs reporters.● Helped conceive and edited three special projects, one of which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

● Held editorial positions of increasing responsibility until I became the newspaper’s Metro Editor.● Directed news coverage in Pulaski County — schools, crime, city and county governments, and state and federal courts — as well as statewide coverage of health, environment, and education issues.● Supervised 22 people.
