I have a clear understanding of the emerging needs of the education sector. I have experience in leading school improvement initiatives and believe that at this critical time, we need to capitalise upon what we have learned from recent challenges as we look to address the changes needed to genuinely reform schooling in Australia. We have valid and reliable, evidence-based research that highlights the need for a shift in emphasis. We need to be more selective about the content we cover and actually embed, assess and report on achievement of the transferable skills and dispositions needed for life-long learning. Given the importance of the NSW Curriculum Review, I believe that we have the opportunity to pivot and finally adapt, implementing key reforms to ensure both sustainable and flexible practices for future curriculum delivery. I have enjoyed a variety of leadership roles in K – 12 settings both in Australia and in the competitive educational environment of the expat community in Singapore. I have extensive project management experience and am respected for the currency of my knowledge and my ability to effectively prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment, conducting comprehensive research, negotiating with stakeholders and collaborating with teams to achieve creative and effective solutions to problems or issues.
