Project SK Spets Montazh Story Caspian Sea Kazakhstan Joint venture working on the Caspian Sea by SK Spets Montazh Stroy LLP which was made up of 3 companies SemArco, Van Oord and BI Group.I was assigned to work onboard Spray Pontoon barge Samothraki on the Caspian Sea in Kazakhstan as Barge Master. Samothraki had 3 system to control the barge : first system Service Mode - whereby you can control individual winches separately, second system CT Mode - whereby you control all winches simultaneously when running ahead or astern by adjusting the speed of the winches, last system VODAS Mode - is an automated system controlling the barge movement when going ahead or reverse on the Running line set for VODAS.Samothraki worked with CD Noordzee on the Caspian Sea with a pipeline of 1600 meters attached to both vessels. Our primary function of both vessels was to widen and deepen the sailing channel at a safe depth. The channels was made wide and deep enough so that 2 vessels can proceed safely from point to another. Building 8 artificial islands for client ADNOC

Projects : Upper Zakum Oilfield building 4 artificial islands, Ariella Extension, Presidential Palace Breakwater and Sir Ban Yas shipping channelFunction & Equipment of Delama 10 & 7 Anchor / Spud Barge:a. Delma 10 barge was equipment with 4 x 40 tons winches with a 38 mm cable attach to a 9 ton Shark anchor to dump rock for the profiles of islands.b. Their was also 2 x 40 meter spud for to be close to the breakwater after these island was formed.c. Also had to 2 x tucker winches with 25 mm cable with soft eyes to bring barge to Delma 10 for offloading and to ensure all ropes are properly secured before releasing the tucker winch cables.d. She also had 2 x Ramps. One ramp was a floating ramp which was placed onboard any barge that was alongside Delma 10. The second ramp was a fixed ramp which was controlled by a 40 ton winch with 38 mm cable to lower or hoist the ramp used for coming alongside the breakwater or jetty at NMDC Basee. The ramp function was for offloading or onloading whilst alongside breakwater of equipment, material and other heavy machinery during that period whereby the fixed ramp will be secured on the breakwater and the sliding ramp will be on the barge.
