Born in a mining town in southwestern New Mexico, I joined the United States Air Force and spent 2 1/2 years in Spain I graduated from the University of New Mexico and received an M.Div. from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. After pastoring several churches, I began work with the New Mexico Corrections Department where I retired as Deputy Warden at Southern NM Correctional Facility in Las Cruces. I helped begin the Crossings Prison Ministry Program in 1998, a faith-based living program that has helped several thousand inmates understand a Christian lifestyle and experience Celebrate Recovery, a program we were the first to use in a correctional setting. This led to my being asked to serve as the first National Director of Celebrate Recovery Inside by CR founder, John Baker. I have helped train many who now do this ministry in jails and prisons throughout the world. In 2007 I went with a team from Saddleback Church to train chaplains and others to do CRI in Kenya.
