Timaru

started as Junior in Retail Banking and progressed up the ranks to Branch Manager within four years something that was quite unique in the 1970's for a female. I then headed up the Team of four other staff that brought in Unique Base Numbering for all branches in South and Mid Canterbury - this involved talking with computer technicians and working out a system so branches could be converted over but still available to function. From there appointed to Assistant Branch Manager Timaru while also looking after all the suburban/country town branch managers. From this I took maternity leave, resigned and re-entered banking 5 years later. Started back part-time Customer Service Officer and from there a few years later was asked to set up High Valued Customer Team in Timaru which was very successful. Asked to join ASB Rural in late 2000, started January 2001 and have stayed. ASB culture is very familiar to the culture I enjoyed at South Canterbury Savings Bank then re-branded as Trust Bank.I was privileged to be nominated by my peers and then to be a finalist for a CEO Award a few years ago
