The position has a significant role in the development and review of housing policies.Key Responsibilities• Undertake research, analysis and evaluation of a wide range of contemporary policy and practice, legislation related issues and current and emerging trends that impact housing in the Northern Territory.• Participate in the development and implementation of housing policy, strategies, plans, initiatives and specific projects to ensure a coordinated whole of government approach to housing in the Northern Territory.• Contribute to identifying strategic linkages across the Department that align to housing directions and the government agenda for housing.• Undertake project planning and management to support the achievement of the Department’s priorities.• Provide clear, accurate and timely briefings in relation to housing policy initiatives and projects and assist with the preparation of a range of high-level documents and briefs to inform and support executive management. • Develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

• To provide advice to the Minister in relation to agency activities, programs and policies;• To assist with tasks related to agency business;• To identify the particular requirements of the Minister in relation to information in all forms provided by the agency, to communicate special requirements to the agency, and to work with senior staff of the agency to ensure that those requirements are met;• To ensure the content of all communication in both directions between the agency and the Minister and Ministerial staff is prompt, complete and accurate;• To work with the agency and Ministerial staff to ensure that paper flows are timely, appropriately routed and tracked;• To maintain and provide information about key positions and their responsibilities within both Ministerial offices and the agency.
