Senior Engineering Manager
CurrentAs the manager for the User Management team at Clever, I lead a collaborative team of engineers that tackle impactful and exciting challenges in the EdTech industry. My duties include: - Leading and building the team that develops and maintains the Identity Management platform within Clever- Developing the skills and impact of the engineers who report to me through support and coaching- Driving the execution of new features spanning fast and intuitive UIs, Go Microservices, and RESTful APIs to give districts control over how their data is synchronized with Clever.- Collaborating with product, design, marketing, and other teams to define our roadmap and execute to meet our goals- Working with the other engineering managers and leaders to define engineering best practices and supporting their organizational adoption- Running an agile development process to efficiently build world-class software- Working with Talent Acquisition to hire new engineer- Updating the team’s processes to ensure the most efficient working environment - Understanding and prioritizing the Clever engineering culture - see our blog post on Defining Clever's Engineering CultureAs the intern director for the Clever 2024 Engineering Internship program, I hired three interns, selected an intern manager from senior engineers, and successfully ran the program that ended with three accepted return offers.As a member of the Equity Leadership and Belonging Committee’s Equitable Interview Workstream, I oversaw the anti-bias overhaul of the engineering, marketing, and legal interviews. Each interview question and rubric was checked for bias and then approved for inclusion in our in-house database. As a member of the ELBC’s DEI Culture Workstream, I engaged with leadership to examine the company’s culture and identify trends and biases that affected employee satisfaction and retention.
