In my current stint at Uber, I have led interesting and challenging efforts across multiple teams (in reverse chronological order) -- Risk, Fraud and trusted identity to save $$ for Uber across LOBs- Information retrieval and ranking in Ubereats feed, search retrieval solving for scalable selection at low latency - Applied ML and platform engineer in Pricing team to figure out optimal price for a trip while balancing business metrics - Fare Intelligence team to identify anomalies in trip fare in real time with a streaming pipeline processing few thousand events per sec- Rider Fares to curate the fare for every single Uber rider/eats order- Rider Promotions which handles all of trip promotions in real time - Trips team which is the backbone for all processing all of Uber events - trips, eats, freight etc.,

TL for DynamoDB control plane:- Designed architecture change to scale control plane from 10 concurrent operations to hundred thousand operations.- Designed and built control plane workflow for online global secondary index creation i.e index creation on a table which receives live traffic without downtime on the table.- Designed and built task versioning for control plane which enabled upgrade/downgrade of workflows. Implemented in such a way - Automated auto repair process so that it reduced load on operations from ~100 oncall tickets to under 5 in a month.TL for SimpleDB:The replication layer in SimpleDB ensures that the different replicas stay up-to-date with each other and process updates depending on the rate of incoming traffic. Improved the performance at peak traffic from minutes to milliseconds by implementing a different feedback mechanism during writes, new membership and node startup.

The process involved reviewing the IT assets (AIX, Windows and MS SQL server) of the client against security standards recommended as best practices by E&Y.
