Director Of Communications
Current+ As Director of Communications, I plan and implement organization-wide strategic communications efforts, while managing a small team that includes staff, volunteers, and contract helpers. + Developed the OCF Member Journey to align resources and messaging for Nonmembers, Members, and Advocates and move members to a greater position of advocacy. This is part of a broader campaign to answer “Why OCF?” Recent efforts have led to:• A 17% increase in new member sign-ups through targeted communications with our local leaders. • A 105% increase in Hospitality Home Network sign-ups (one of our advocacy-level programs) through our biannual newsletter.• Increased email newsletter open rates to nearly 50% on average. + Implemented an audience focus group: I set up three podcast focus group sessions of about dozen people each, conducted them over Zoom, recorded each session, and allowed participants to follow up with a short survey for additional comment. Monthly download averages are up about 20%.+ Developed targeted email communications for our Regional Coordinators. These emails provide key advocates (local leaders and area coordinators) with strategic ministry content, creating more chances for word-of-mouth communications by educating and informing our advocates. This initiative partly comes from an indirect learning about word-of-mouth communication discovered during the podcast focus group. + Designed Global Town Hall registration form to capture attendee interests; conducted a feedback session with attendees after the event; and leveraged data to begin informing future content creation for our Content Targeting Team. This content will support organizational strategic priorities, meet the needs of our members (specifically Christian military officers), and align with targeted communications as part of the Member Journey.
