Jane Applegate is an executive producer, writer and co-founder of The Remarkable Women Project. We share untold stories of remarkable women throughout history whose accomplishments have not been fully credited or recognized. Our hybrid doc series is being developed with Greenlit Productions based in Vihti, Finland. Other RWP projects include Remarkable Women: Reclaiming Their Stories, a book about 23 remarkable women by Alice Look, educational videos and digital content designed to bring these important stories to life for a contemporary audience. Accomplished female filmmakers in Finland, Poland, Ireland, Romania, and the U.S. are also researching remarkable women who deserve recognition.Jane teaches the business of film course at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College.Applegate is also an award-winning journalist and author of five books.Her most recent is "Hair on Fire: An Insider's Guide to Producing for the Big and Small Screen," available on Amazon. In 2014, she produced Erica Fae's global film festival favorite "To Keep the Light," which won several film festival awards.Prior to becoming a producer, Applegate was an investigative reporter and small business columnist for the L.A. Times. She also served as a reporter and producer for CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg TV. Her best-selling small business book, "201 Great Ideas for Your Small Business" is available on Amazon.
