In November 2022 my first book was published. 'When Words are Not Enough' was co-written with Jimmy Edmonds and curates the many varied creative approaches to grief by 13 bereaved individuals. This book was born out of our personal experience of being bereaved parents but our hope is that it will serve as a guide for anybody who is grieving. Find out more on our website.

I am Jane Harris and with my partner Jimmy Edmonds we have created THE GOOD GRIEF PROJECT in order to share our experience of grief and to help others to find an active and creative response to the expression of their grief. Our son Josh died in a road accident in Vietnam in 2011 while he was on a six month tour of the Far East. He was 22.Our family suffered what many have described the worst loss of all, the death of a child.What resulted from this experience was the birth of our charity.Our mission is to support families grieving after the untimely death of a loved one, particularly the death of a son or daughter. We do this by encouraging a creative and active response to grief by looking for new ways of expressing the pain of loss with various art forms and media.We aim to promote an understanding of what it means to grieve in a society that often has difficulty talking openly about death, dying and bereavement. We do this with our films and talks.

I am a filmmaker and co founder of The Good Grief Project. www.thegoodgriefproject.co.ukI am also a Senior Accredited Practitioner with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and registered with The United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRCP).My approach is integrative and I draw on a mixture of psychodynamic and psychoanalytic traditions as well as cognitive and behavioural models. I have completed training in teaching clients how to use Mindfulness and am a bereavement specialist.
