Robert Half International is the worlds largest financial recruitment company. Working in the Portsmouth area, I recruit candidates who seek a permanent role in the finance market (from Sales Ledgers Clerks to fully qualified Financial Directors/CEO’s). Handling a wide portfolio of locally based clients from small family run companies to large multinationals. I handle recruitment campaigns from start to finish, taking an in depth face to face job brief, advising the client on the most effective recruitment solution, and ensuring that a successfully placed candidate becomes another potential client. Methods used include retained assignments, psychometric testing, client paid advertising and search and selection.Achievements:· Regularly exceed my individual business target set by the company. (Achieved rank of UK number one by 2002 for our permanent recruitment division).· Promoted to Divisional Manager . Trained another consultant who went on to also become UK number 1.·

Reporting directly to the MD, I managed the Manchester branch of this specialist agency with a team of 5 staff recruiting across any industry for Sales or Marketing roles.- I handled recruitment campaigns from start to finish; advertising, interviewing and assessing potential candidates, checking references, psychometric testing and producing a shortlist for the client to interview . I was responsible for the branch budget, branch marketing, recruiting, training and appraising staff, and ensuring both personal and branch targets are reached if not exceeded.- Clients included Orange plc, Financial Times Group, Manchester City Football Club, B Sky B, Brother International Ltd and Yellow Pages.Achievements:· Significantly increased branch turnover and profit (Branch exceeding target on leaving).· Won the Yellow Pages Account for the North, Scotland and NI, worth £350,000 business, the largest permanent recruitment account in the Group at that time. .

All of my roles were in HR - Personnel Officer within the Naval Personnel (Civilian Management) Unit, in the Plymouth and then Portsmouth Naval Bases, interpreting central policy and giving accurate and prompt advice on the management of and development of civilians to its customers,both service and civilian. Achievements:· I ran the External Training Budget for the department.· A trained Risk Assessor, I acted as Health and Safety Officer · Responsible for civilian management of over 500 staff in a wide variety of grades.· Details of other MOD postsI spent 6 months in the Industrial Relations Department, liasing with the Trades Unions over issues important to the Naval Base and the installation of a crèche facility . My first role was within a Staff Section, the MOD’s front line of Personnel Management, dealing with Industrial and Non-Industrial staff, their pay, attendance, discipline cases, overtime, bonuses, training, pensions, maternity and appraisal.
