At Immigrant Services Calgary, I taught citizenship classes to a great breadth of learners, from low literacy to Canadian Language Benchmarks 4 and above. I employ a variety of visuals and videos to increase engagement and help explain concepts. I incorporate hands-on activities to help support and reinforce the lecture materials. I was often the first point of contact and an important element in shaping students' first impression of the yoga studio, providing information about the classes, schedules and policies as well as checking students into class. I very much enjoyed being a connection point between the owners, managers, teachers and students; community is a wonderful part of working at this yoga studio. I worked with MindBody Online software, as well as the full Microsoft Office Suite as well as Google Docs in my administrative and extensive editing work. Working at Bodhi Tree was a very meaningful, rewarding and soft-skill building experience. I am so thankful to all the great people I got to work with and serve!
