Jane Costello joined Amgen's Commercialization and R&D Compliance as executive director of Pipeline Strategy and Portfolio Management in April 2012. In this role, Jane is responsible for driving the continuous improvement and evolution of Amgen’s portfolio management, cross-functional decision-making and investment planning, including assessing the value, cost and risk of alternative options for pipeline assets, serving as single source of pipeline information and assumptions for internal and external audiences, establishing internal and external benchmarking and metrics for pipeline performance and quality, advancing commercialization planning systems as well as providing proactive compliance oversight of systems supporting R&D activities. Prior to this new role, Jane held the position of executive director of North America Commercial Operations, Global Government Affairs and Global Value and Access Information Systems, reporting directly to the CIO. Jane joined Amgen in 2003 and has held several leadership roles, including program manager for the Global Product Safety Surveillance Program in R&D Informatics, director of customer relationship management, competitive and business intelligence and the Project Management Office for Global Commercial Operations IS. Prior to joining Amgen, Jane held the positions of client partner for Commercial Operations at Genentech and west coast practice management lead at Razorfish where her portfolio of clients included: Dell, Cisco and Disney. She was also vice president at DMI Music, where her responsibilities included business/legal affairs and operations. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA from the Andersen School at UCLA.
