Conducted research in the School of City and Regional Planning's Healthy Places Lab on community gardens and research on links between urban agriculture and green gentrification factors across Atlanta, GA.

Partnered work with the USDA Forest Service Southern Regional Office (Region 8) and Washington Office in Atlanta, GA and Washington, D.C, in Sustainable Operations (Engineering Unit) and Research and Development, respectively. I was instrumental in the creation of ESRI ArcGIS Story Maps that visualize success stories as well as make information on the Forest Service accessible to the general public and contractors. I am knowledgeable of the Executive Order that aligns with Sustainable Operations and the multi-faceted complexity of work and organization in Research and Development in the USDA Forest Service. I Developed and maintained relationships with partners from internal and outside federal agencies, organizations and universities for sustainable program development. I conceptualized an exhibit in partnership with American Public Gardens Association highlighting R&D, Urban Field Stations, Climate Adaptation, and Cultural Relevance in selected cities.Successes and achievements include national agency-wide and general public online visibility, managing and editing projects on deadline, formulating program and curriculum development for sustained environmental education, and diversifying my professional network.

As an advocate leader under University of Virginia's Office of Sustainability, my role was to guide a group of students to teach and promote sustainability for the university's students, primarily targeting the first years. As an advocate leader I served as a reference for the sustainability advocates in the program as we completed our various events and sustainable practices. Some of these included the Game Day Program, a national competition to divert the greatest amount of waste from football and basketball games, and the Dorm Energy Race which encourages first year students to save energy in their dorms by turning off lights when leaving, taking shorter showers, etc.

Environment Georgia requires that every petition be entered into an online database system. In this position, I entered the required data, including the funds raised, number of petitions per canvasser, and other required information, into the database.

Environment Georgia is a non profit organization that runs campaigns and events in the greater Atlanta area that address environmental problems. During the summer of my internship, I worked on a campaign that educated citizens on the most recent threat to the parks along the Chattahoochee River. This included hiring canvassers to work during the summer, and organizing at parks and other locations to gain petitions. One of these petitioning events took place at during the city's River-Run festival. Another aspect of campaigning included writing Letters to the Editor, informing the general public across Georgia of the issues.The EPA held a public hearing for Obama's Clean Power Plan proposal in Atlanta. I assisted in the organization and execution of the hearing, and rally, and I spoke during my allotted time at the hearing.
