Hi! I'm Janelle Greenlee (aka Nellie Green) and I'm a public policy specialist with a proven track record of success in advocacy and policymaking. I've led efforts to shape policies at global, national, and state levels and have created and implemented effective advocacy training programs. I've also had the privilege to collaborate with federal and state agencies on impactful public health initiatives, serving on all sides of the legislative experience as a legislative author, analyst, and sponsor. I've organized successful advocacy events in Washington D.C. and multiple state capitols, empowering non-profit organizations (and their volunteers!) to advocate for causes that matter to their communities. Prior to 2003, my career gravitated towards marketing and public relations (and I loved the perks of fashion and sportswear PR). However, the arrival of my special needs twin daughters, born with congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV), shifted my focus entirely. Their separate complex medical needs required my full-time attention, and I was fortunate to serve as their dedicated caregiver through our state's In-Home Support Services (IHSS) program until they transitioned to residential care. Now I'm eager to fully reignite my passion: advocacy. Volunteering has been a privilege throughout these years, fostering a deep appreciation for those who freely dedicate their time and skills to non-profit causes. This journey has empowered me to continue my advocacy pursuits as a volunteer, where I strive to help individuals and non-profit organizations enact positive change for their communities and cherished causes.
