“Children learn more from what you are, than what you teach.” A quote by W.E.B. Du Bois. I came across this quote while scrolling through social media, and I felt very strongly about this. Children are curious learners and will learn anything and everything at any given time. As an aspiring early childhood educator, I aspire to be a role model for my children. Being an Inline Skating instructor, I exposed myself to many different situations during lesson time, including injuries, tantrums, and weather situations. I am able to be flexible to resolve the problem and handle the class at the same time. To make sure that my students are having fun and learning at the same time, I conduct different lesson plans and games so that they would have fun and learn in a safe environment. I believe that active partnership with the parents would allow extended learning for the children, which allows them to be able to grow and develop more. I am Janelle Soo, graduated with a diploma of Child Psychology and Early Education from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I strive to be an early childhood educator where I would be the role model for my children and allow them to learn and grow in the best environment possible. I also want to be a team worker, where I would work closely with my colleagues to make sure that everyday lessons flow smoothly.
