Jane Pak Email and Phone Number
I graduated from Boston University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Concentration in Manufacturing. With a passion for manufacturing, including additive manufacturing, I have pursued courses to further my knowledge such as Automation and Manufacturing Methods and Additive Manufacturing. Additive Manufacturing has taught me about multiple methods used today and the proper techniques needed to produce a final product. Topology optimization and lattice patterns were key techniques I learned to minimize material and time usage while printing. My UROP research into coaxial, multi-material nozzles challenged me in developing a method that would best help the Additive Assembly Lab at Boston University. While creating an entire setup to account for the new nozzles, I also helped with experimenting to find the optimal printing conditions for the different materials that were used.

Undergraduate Student ResearcherBoston University Jun 2020 - May 2021Boston, Massachusetts, United StatesThe goal of my research was to develop a custom coaxial 3D printhead for printing a liquid metal ink with a packaging ink for flexible circuits at BU's Additive Assembly Lab (AAL). Coaxial printing is when an inner nozzle extrudes a conductive material—a “core” ink—while a secondary material—a “shell” ink—is simultaneously extruded outside with the core ink. -
Summer StaffIolani School Jun 2017 - Aug 2019Honolulu, Hawaii, United StatesI helped at Iolani School's ITS department during the Summers of 2017, 2018, and 2019. Diagnosed and fixed mechanical and software issues with iPads, iMacs, Macbooks, PCs, Smart Boards, projector. Coordinated with employers to prepare for large deployments of new iPads and iMacs to students and teachers
