Currently, I am retired from full time teaching and am enjoying substitute teaching secondary students. I specialize in biology, though I am teaching in all subject areas.
My BA from the University of Texas at Austin is in psychology, though I also earned teaching certificates for secondary biology, psychology, sociology and teen leadership. During my tenure with LISD, I had the opportunity to mentor many students, especially in my teen leadership classes. From feedback I have received from former biology students, I have influenced several to seek degrees in biology in preparation for careers in the medical field. Also, I won the award for Teacher of the Year during my tenures in both JISD the LISD.
For Jasper ISD, I was a district trainer. I also taught biology at the middle school and then biology, psychology and sociology at the high school. I was awarded the Teacher of the Year award during my tenure in Japser ISD.
