Experience: Senior Health Physics Technician employed by United States Enrichment Corporation. 9-13-1993 till 9-1-2013 Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant leased from The Department of Energy. Major responsibilities, include to protect the workers and the environment from radioactive contamination by monitoring the air, water, and soil. While at U.S.E.C. I was trained to monitor for Hydrogen Fluoride using a Gastec GV-100 , and also was cross trained to run Uranium Arsenazo Analysis in the C-710 Laboratory. Health Physics responsibilities include posting areas to caution workers of the dangers of airborne contamination, removable contamination ,and Ionizing Radiation in work areas. Monitoring of tools and equipment using radiological instrumentation to insure NO contamination or radioactive materials left non posted or regulated areas. Routine surveys performed on a set schedule to meet Nuclear Regulatory Commitments. Numerous surveys performed for receipt of radioactive materials and offsite of radioactive materials. Job Coverage to remove and install major components in Process Buildings. After each job was started, and completed , surveys were written to document contamination and radiation levels in areas as per plant procedures. Surveyed incoming and out going radioactive shipments. Also includes Job Coverage plant wide, oversight of UF6 cylinder hook up , and disconnection of UF6 cylinders , source checking emergency radiation and contamination instrumentation, and changing out 200 foot Environmental Stack Sample a E.P.A. requirement . Issued TLDs in Dosmerty for employees who lose or misplace them. Completed the Health Physics Core Academic Training and certification . Have had a Department of Energy Security L Clearance since 9/1993.
