My position as a facilitator is to help assist head start parents with community resources and send home activities with their child to help with school readiness goals, such as reading, language, math, positive discipline and routines. I schedule and follow up on home visits, in which the visits have to be documented in Child Plus with any action steps that have to be followed up on as well. Documenting other work, attending trainings often, helping out in the classroom, and filing papers in the child's file records are also a part of my job.

In my teaching I had 18 students and I had an assistant teacher. My classroom had 12-15 different centers that helped enhance the child's development cognitively,socially, physically and verbally. Some of my centers consist of the writing center, sand and water table(sink and float activities), manipulative shelf with puzzles and math games. We were on a daily schedule/ routine and for large group we had all children sit in a large circle and small groups the assistant and I would divide the children up equally. The assistant and I typed newsletters, lesson plans, completed observations, scheduled field trips and attended trainings. In 2003 I was awarded a 5 year plaque for my services with BVCAA.
