About Janet Dandy-Ward

I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom (UK). I have over 20+ years’ experience working for not-for-profit organisations and statutory services in the UK and Australia. As an experienced practitioner, feminist in my approach, I am a keen campaigner and advocate on women’s and child protection issues through my professional and community networks. I believe that balancing the voices and views of women and children has always been the heart and guiding principle of my work. As a leader of practice, I am solution focused in my facilitation style and encourage staff to focus on developing their capacity to incorporate evidence based best practice principles into day-to-day practice.I am passionate about improving the lives of children, young people and their families. This is a fundamental value that has underpinned my extensive direct social work practice experience and also my subsequent work, leading best practice and ensuring quality service delivery.I’m a mum with a great partner, Mick and we are raising a respectful young man. As a family we try to always make time for each other and love Sydney that we have been very fortunate to call home for the last 13 years. I love the outdoors, walking our dog (Monty), ocean swimming and music! I practice gratitude every day!
