Simone Parsons has been consulting with local communities and researching, analysing and providing strategic advice on social issues for more than 15 years. Her recent focus has been NGO service development and social housing policy, including tenant engagement and participation, planning and evaluation in the field of homelessness prevention. Simone is Chair of the HNSW Social Housing Tenants Advisory Committee.Simone has worked with organisations to clarify their service delivery models, conducted program evaluations, developed strategic plans and facilitated organisational change processes for State and Local Government and NGOs. She is a clear and perceptive thinker, with an inclusive approach to her work. Simone has an authentic communication style and is comfortable working with senior management, front line staff and consumer groups.Simone is an engaging facilitator and has designed and led a broad range of consultation and deliberative processes. These include: community forums of over 100 participants, government and non-government strategic planning workshops, focused small team planning days, client and stakeholder focus groups and one–to-one interviews. Simone’s government clients often engage her to lead consultations with key stakeholders including NGOs and peak bodies to workshop issues relating to policy change and understand implementation pathways and options.Simone holds tertiary qualifications in issues management and community consultation and is trained in strengths based facilitation. Her formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Sydney and a Certificate of Public Participation from the International Association of Public Participation.
