About Janet Sharkis, Ms, Lpc
I love a good challenge, especially when it involves a great cause, important issue, and extraordinary people. I approach challenges by objectively diving into the data with the team. In generating ideas and choosing the right path, I have found that the best strategies are developed when both "in the box" conventions and negative judgements about proposed ideas are abandoned. In my experience, this is when previously hidden solutions become obvious. Then the team declares a collective "aha" when we arrive at a well crafted, agreed upon strategy that we can all be proud of. Unraveling an agency's financial dilemmas, engaging a hard to reach funder or policy maker, & tackling complex cross system dilemmas are among the many exciting challenges that I have tackled this way. The execution is facilitated by developing the buy in up front through shared decision making. I have raised lots of money, brought diverse people together to improve equity, developed quality improvement & evaluation platforms that significantly improved outcomes, and mentored, taught, and coached people to strengthen and implement software sales and marketing strategy. But what I am most proud of is what follows:• Advocating for people who are overlooked, misunderstood, mistreated & doing so with passion, tact, & positivity. • Bringing people together who first are angry & judgmental of others, & changing that vibe to one of connection, productivity, & joy. • Diffusing what seems to be an overwhelming situation for a group, by showing the humor in it, engaging them in detecting opportunities in the situation, & supporting them tap to into their courage.• Building the confidence in colleagues & volunteers by challenging & supporting them to do things they never before realized they were capable ofI look forward to bringing my skills, experience and passion to my next role.
Listed skills include Writing, Presentation Skills, Management, Disabilities, and 8 others.
