I live to my values. Having called out inappropriate behaviour at the highest level in a very public whistleblowing case, I left my 26 year career as an operational fire officer. I am now stepping into pastures new. My technical experience includes Fire Prevention, Fire Incident Management, Public Speaking, Risk Management, Inspection, Improvement, Governance and partnership/collaborative working. I worked in three different Fire Services, took a secondment to His Majesty's Inspectorate for Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) and undertook national volunteer roles as NFCC lead for HMICFRS/Inspection and NFCC PPE representative for Women in the Fire Service (WFS) .My professional qualifications include a GIFire from the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) which focused on Fire Engineering, Leadership & Management, Fire Protection, and Fire Incident Operations. I hold Members Level IFE qualifications for Operations and Strategic Human Resource Management, and a Post Graduate Cert. Merit in Executive Leadership from Warwick Business School. I am currently working on a Coaching & Mentoring qualification from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).I have been and continue to be a national representative for Women in the Fire Service (WFS). I work at a national level supporting development and progression for women and other under-represented groups. I continue to support mentoring at national level through the NFCC Coaching & Mentoring portal. I have always been passionate about inclusion and driving positive change within the fire sector. I have and will continue to speak up about poor leadership and behaviours that impact organisational culture. I will continue to challenge traditional ways of working. I will use both my personal and work experience to drive improvement for equality, diversity and inclusion. I am a strong BAME and LGBTQ+ ally.
