Just launched "The Kindness of Color - The story of two families and Mendez v. Westminster, the 1947 desegregation of California public schools." It's the story of my grandparents and father in WWII, the Japanese American incarceration and the intersection of the fight for equal education opportunities for all races, preceding 1954 Brown v. Education. At its core, it is about how kindness of friends and strangers provided the hope to endure and persevere against two kinds of unjust racism. After serving on the Generous Giving Engagement Team for 10 years, I have stepped off in 2021 to be a volunteer facilitator for the Journey of Generosity. It's been a blessing to share the Gospel-centered message of Biblical generosity in Southern California through facilitating Journey of Generosity (JOG) retreats, training up facilitators, and helping create and influence joy and freedom-filled community. I love Generous Giving and what we do and hope to keep serving in this way as a volunteer. I am also a Biola / Talbot Seminary - trained Spiritual Director with a private practice and at Biola.
