Associate Vice President, Graduate & Professional Enrollment Management

As I contemplated early retirement, I took on a contract role as Associate Consultant for a higher education executive search firm.

•Responsible for cultivating relationships with appropriate campus decision makers to generate sales in a multi-state territory (the southeast as well as all of Canada)•Present numerous sessions, participate in exhibiting, and network at regional and national meetings of admission, financial aid, and retention associations•Generate revenue by working closely with Noel-Levitz consultants to sell products and services to new client campuses, sell extensions of existing services to current clients, and cross-sell new services to existing client campuses•Conduct enrollment opportunities assessments for institutions, at the graduate and professional level, to assist each in moving forward efficiently and effectively to achieve strategic enrollment management goals•Delivery of consulting services for institutions, at the graduate and professional level, as each strives to achieve strategic enrollment management goals and objectives•Accomplishment of note:*My sales success in this newly created position resulted in the hire of two additional regional directors in 2013; have exceed company-set goals for 2012, 2013, and have already achieved goal set for 2014 as of July 2014

•Responsible for development and delivery of advisory services to support the vision, strategies, and needs of institutions as they strive to build relationships with prospective students, enhance communications and operations, and develop actionable and measureable annual reports •Possess a deep understanding of enrollment management as it relates to higher education mission and business objectives, to guide the client in the creation of recruitment and admissions success objectives, key performance indicators, and high-level strategy for achieving their goals, including the application of emerging technologies in student enrollment•Worked across enterprises – both within SGHE and at an institution – in order to support sales and delivery of SunGard Higher Education’s recruiting and admissions solutions

•Developed the GPEM office, along with the Associate VP, centralizing the recruitment, marketing, & admissions activities of 7 academic units into one office•Responsible for allocation & management of annual budget of $3 million spent to most effectively & efficiently achieve specific enrollment goals•Participated in the selection process of a database for use by all appropriate personnel, & was responsible for training over 100 end users.•Developed, implemented, & evaluated strategic recruitment plan & marketing activities for over 100 graduate and professional programs•Developed & executed an automated prospective student communications plan for each college/program •Collaborated with the Deans & other staff in the development & execution of on-campus recruitment activities, including over 30 Open Houses & other on-campus events per year•Researched & evaluated constituency needs as it related to new program development in the graduate and professional area, & facilitated program development to meet those needs•Participated in hiring processes of all key staff members in the unit, and supervised 16 full-time staff in GPEM, as well as 15 student workers•Served as the web content manager for graduate & professional programs - writing, editing, & maintaining content•Served as a resource on the development & enhancement of internal processes that impact recruitment, admission, & retention of students•Participated in the development of collateral marketing pieces to promote the university’s programs, in an effort to deliver a consistent message as well as develop brand awareness for Loyola•Assisted in the development of enrollment targets consistent with the university’s enrollment plan•Developed the structures & processes necessary to collect &analyze marketing & enrollment data to support decision-making and guide strategy development**After several years of decline, GPEM program saw a 22% increase in total graduate & professional student enrollment
